Frequent Questions about Spanish Non-lucrative residence visas

What are the requirements for the non-lucrative visa?

Financial means to support yourself and your dependants: You’ll need to provide financial documentation such as bank statements, proof of investment income, or a sponsorship letter. While the required amount can vary, a common benchmark is approximately €28,800 for the main applicant and €7,200 for each dependant.

Private health insurance valid in Spain that fully covers medical expenses during your stay.

Proof of accommodation in Spain, such as a rental contract, property title, or an invitation letter from someone hosting you.

Clear criminal background, typically confirmed through an ACRO certificate or equivalent from your country.

Retirement status: This visa is not intended for remote workers. If you plan to work online from Spain, the Digital Nomad Visa may be a better fit.
